Tom Clevinger
Managing Partner, Chicago

Tom is an accomplished senior executive who brings deep and broad experience in commercial truck, bus, engine, & service parts, sales, marketing, operations, heavy truck dealership operations, commercial vehicle parts distribution, component remanufacturing and aftersales support businesses.  His background spans national and international senior management assignments in general management, sales and marketing, operations, and product management with P&L responsibilities exceeding $1.3B.

Most recently Tom served as Senior Vice President / Managing Director – Global for Navistar Inc., a $10B Fortune 500 company that manufactures commercial light, medium and heavy-duty commercial trucks, buses, military vehicles and diesel engines under the International, IC and MWM nameplates.  In this role, he was responsible for the company’s truck, bus, engine, parts and service businesses outside of the U.S. and Canada.  Previous to Navistar, Tom was a member of the Board of Management of DAF Trucks N.V. (PACCAR Inc.) in the Netherlands.

Tom serves on the Boards of National University System, City University of Seattle, International Service Logistics Association (Germany) and BrightOrder (Canada).  Tom received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and his Master of Arts Degree in Leadership and Organizational Development from City University of Seattle.  He also holds executive education certificates from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Darden Business School.

Over the past 20 years, David has gained broad experience leading profitable business growth, consolidations, turnaround and M&A activities.  He is known for his leadership in Senior Executive, C-Suite and Board Director roles, providing strategic direction for business development and multi-billion dollar P&L management.

A highly accomplished corporate leader and featured in industry press and media, David recently served as Senior Vice President, Distribution at Navistar Inc. where he led the North American distribution segment, consisting of Dealer Operations, DealCor assets (company-owned stores) and the Used Truck business. He recruited/developed diverse and highly accountable teams of results-driven professionals, implementing strategies to consolidate the North American dealer channel and guiding the company through its worst trade cycle in 40 years.

Previously, as President & CEO of Chicago International Trucks, he consolidated the largest single market truck dealership in North America, growing and maintaining a dominant market position and branding in truck, parts, service and leasing.

Earlier leadership roles include Senior Vice President, Purchasing at USF Corporation and Vice President, Purchasing, Maintenance and e-Commerce at Laidlaw Education Services, North America’s largest provider of school transportation. In these roles David developed/implemented consolidated procurement, fleet maintenance and real estate initiatives. David started his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. He holds an Accounting and Finance degree from Marquette University and executive education certificates from the Harvard Business School.


Jim Halerz
Managing Partner, Detroit

Jim has over thirty years of corporate and entrepreneurial business experience. In recent years Jim has been a Principal and Founder of Unity Advisors Group (UAG), a boutique executive advisory services firm made up of former CXOs.  Jim led the practice’s efforts in executive search and product development.

He previously founded and operated TeraPixel Partners, a retained search firm. Jim has worked with many senior leadership teams in the automotive, consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, energy, pharmaceutical, technology, professional services and diversified industrial manufacturing sectors to recruit key corporate executives as well as to advise on organizational structure, career development, onboarding and executive transition issues. While operating TeraPixel Partners, Jim was also instrumental in the startup and ongoing development of TeraPixel Productions, a Michigan-based firm that provides multimedia services to enhance corporate branding, introduce new products/technology and facilitate internet-based training programs.

Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers where he became one of the organization’s youngest consulting directors in leading the Chicago office executive search practice. Jim holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from St. Xavier University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois (UIC). He is a published author and also has served as an Adjunct Professor in DePaul University’s graduate management (MBA) program for experienced business professionals.
